Our Doctors
Dr. Kristy Mounts
Dr. Mounts is from the small town of Oak Grove, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana Tech University and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. She then attended LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, and graduated in 2006 with a doctorate in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Mounts began her veterinary career at a fast-paced mixed animal hospital. After 2 years of practice, she joined this practice in Ruston, focusing on small animal medicine, surgery, and ultrasonography. In January 2017, Dr. Mounts became the business owner of this practice, eventually rebranding the practice to its current brand, Cypress Creek Animal Hospital, in March of 2023. Dr. Mounts enjoys many aspects of veterinary practice, but holds a special interest in advanced ultrasonography and echocardiography.
Dr. Mounts is grounded by faith and family. She is driven by her compassion for animals, and strives to provide the best care for her patients while nurturing the bond between pet and owner. Dr. Mounts enjoys spending time with her husband Bobby and children Paxton and Paisley. She also enjoys playing with her energetic dogs Oakey and Basil, and caring for her cats, Jake and Ariel.
Dr. Bethany Bailey
Bethany Bailey was born and raised in Minden, LA. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Louisiana Tech University in 2011. She then attended LSU School of Veterinary Medicine where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She has worked in small animal practice and completed a fellowship in shelter medicine at LSU.
She planted her roots in Ruston and joined the Cypress Creek Animal Hospital team in 2017. She enjoys helping owners understand all aspects of their pet’s care, whether it is preventive wellness care with a new puppy or comfort care at the end of a pet’s life. Her goal is to have each family leave our clinic with a thorough understanding of the current diagnosis and treatment plan.
When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Colin, and their two children, William and Stella. She also has many dogs and cats that keep her busy. She is an active member of Ruston Church of Christ and spends her free time volunteering in the community with Junior Auxiliary of Ruston.
Dr. Manda Burnett
Dr. Burnett grew up in the small town of Amory, MS. After graduating high school, she attended Mississippi State University where she obtained B.S. degrees in Biological Sciences and Microbiology. Following her undergraduate studies, she entered the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University and graduated with her DVM degree in 2005. She began her veterinary career in Arkansas and practiced there and in Mississippi before moving to Louisiana in 2018. She lives in West Monroe with her husband Evan and two children, Rhys and Chloe. She has two Labrador retrievers, Tillie and Shadow, a cat, Alice and her daughter has two rabbits, Asher and Tux. Dr. Burnett especially enjoys soft tissue surgery and getting to know her clients and their pets. In her time away from work, she enjoys gardening, outdoor activities and spending time with her family.
